A Guam trip is easiest if you stay in Tumon and split the beach from the south. On a two-night trip, plan only Tumon's beach and the airport transfer, and set aside separate days for Two Lovers Point and the southern coast.
Below, we divide Guam into Tumon, Two Lovers Point, Hagåtña and the southern coast, then cover Chamorro food, two- and four-night plans and hotels. The red shuttle runs within Tumon; for the south, a rental car is the right choice.
Visa and entry requirements for Guam
Whether you need a visa, how long you can stay and which pre-arrival forms apply all depend on your nationality and the purpose of your trip. Check the official source below, and your own government's travel advice, before you book.
Guam is a US territory. Depending on your nationality, you may enter under the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program (with the G-CNMI ETA), with a valid ESTA, or with a B1/B2 visa. Always recheck the current rules before you fly.

Split Guam into Tumon and everything else
Stay in Tumon and the beach, dinner and the airport shuttle are all in one area. Hagåtña is the main town, but Tumon has the most hotels. Two Lovers Point is a cliff north of Tumon, and southern villages such as Inarajan need a car.
On a three-day, two-night trip, a night in Tumon and a morning on the beach are the core. If you add a loop of the south on the same day, your swimming time disappears. The order of direct flights and the shuttle is explained in Guam direct flights, Tumon and the red shuttle (in Korean).
| Area | What to do | Getting there |
|---|---|---|
| Tumon | Stay, beach, dinner | Airport shuttle, shuttle within Tumon |
| Two Lovers Point | Cliff views, sunset | By car from Tumon; check shuttle days on site |
| Hagåtña | Main streets, night market days | Short drive from Tumon |
| The south | Inarajan, coastal villages | A day with a rental car |
Stay in Tumon: beach and dinner on one street
Tumon Bay is a lagoon in front of the resorts. The waves are low on many days, so the morning after you arrive is a good time to swim. Access may differ between hotel beachfronts and park beaches, so check with the front desk first.
The area page is Tumon (in Korean). Gun Beach is at the northern end and Ypao Beach is the park beach at the southern end. Restaurants and shops cluster along Tumon's main road, so doing the beach by day and dining in the evening keeps travel short.
We have hotel guides for Dusit Beach Resort Guam (in Korean) and The Tsubaki Tower Guam (in Korean). The price ranges shown are for reference; check rates for your dates on Agoda.

Two Lovers Point and Hagåtña: half days outside Tumon
Two Lovers Point is a cliff viewpoint. Even if you only go for the sunset, you need a car both ways. Some notices say there is a separate Sunday shuttle, so check the service on the day you go. The admission fee on the day also takes precedence.
Hagåtña is Guam's main town: smaller than Tumon, with government offices and old streets. Chamorro Village is the night market on the Hagåtña side; time your dinner to the day it opens. On other days, you are better off returning to Tumon's restaurants.
Fish Eye Marine Park is an observatory over the sea. Putting it in the same morning as the Tumon beach means changing clothes and travel overlap. It fits better in the afternoon of a swimming day, or as one stop on a day's drive south.
Set aside a rental-car day for the south
The southern coast, including Inarajan, is outside the Tumon shuttle route. On a four-night trip, free up a day and drive around by rental car. To see the villages, pools and coastal road in one go, stay in the south through lunch.
Squeezing the south into two nights clashes with checkout and the airport transfer. On a first trip, dropping the south protects your beach time. For longer trips, compare Guam itineraries for three and four nights (in Korean).
Our best time to visit Guam (in Korean) page separates the wet and dry seasons. December to May is described as relatively dry; check the weather forecast for typhoons before you go.
One Chamorro meal, and shuttles and rental cars for getting around
Kelaguen is a Chamorro dish of chicken or beef dressed with lemon and coconut. Red rice is colored rice, often served with Chamorro barbecue. Hotel restaurants have it too, but eating one meal at a local restaurant makes the difference clear.
Coconut candy is a popular gift. It can melt in a hot car, so check the packaging.
The airport's official name is Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport, code GUM. To Tumon, a hotel shuttle phone is often signposted outside customs, and some hotels list the ride at about 15 to 25 minutes.
The red shuttle in Tumon serves the beach road. Single fares and day passes vary by season, so we do not fix a price on this page. The south and Two Lovers Point are outside that shuttle.
Two nights in Tumon; four nights adds a day in the south
Here is how to split two nights. On day one, go from the airport to Tumon and just enjoy the beach. Day two is Tumon's streets and Two Lovers Point. On day three, swim in the morning and fly out. If you land in the early hours, keep day one free and sleep.
With four nights, after two days in Tumon, drive around the south by rental car and use the remaining day for Hagåtña or Fish Eye. Plans that loop the whole island in one day only add photo stops and cut your time in the sea.
For budget figures, check the reference date in our Guam budget guide (in Korean), and recheck flights and exchange rates in the week you travel. This hub does not state fixed round-trip prices.
FAQ
Is a US ESTA enough for Guam?
The US ESTA and the Guam-CNMI ETA are separate systems. Depending on nationality, a valid ESTA or a B1/B2 visa may also allow you to board. Check the official US government sources before you go.
Where should I stay first?
For beach and dinner, Tumon. If the goal is a drive in the south, stay in Tumon and set aside a rental-car day so you move your luggage less.
Can I do Two Lovers Point and the south on two nights?
Two Lovers Point works as an outing on a two-night trip. Adding the south to the same trip leaves no beach time.
Are the prices on the hotel pages fixed?
No. The Dusit Beach and Tsubaki Tower guides cover location and type; check the rate for your dates on the booking screen.
