Pattaya is a beach city where your plan stays light if you give the Sanctuary of Truth and the Koh Larn ferry a day each.

Day tours of the Sanctuary of Truth run 8:20 to 18:00 and night tours 18:20 to 20:30; adult admission is 500 baht by day and 700 baht at night.

Pattaya is about 150 km southeast of Bangkok in a straight line, so many visitors add it by road after Bangkok. The Koh Larn ferry from Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya costs 40 baht one way and takes 35 to 45 minutes.

Thailand revised its visa-exemption and visa-on-arrival schemes from 15 September 2026, and the length of stay depends on your nationality. Check the official sources before you travel.

Visa and entry requirements for Thailand

Whether you need a visa, how long you can stay and which pre-arrival forms apply all depend on your nationality and the purpose of your trip. Check the official source below, and your own government's travel advice, before you book.

The Koh Larn ferry leaves from Pier A at Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya and costs 40 baht one way. How should I split 2 or 4 nights?

Short answer: with 2 nights, the sanctuary and the beach; with 4 nights, add a day on Koh Larn.

With 2 nights: travel from Bangkok by road on day one and walk the beach, then see the Sanctuary of Truth during the day on day two. Day tours end at 18:00, so if you arrive late in the afternoon you can choose the night tour instead.

With 4 nights: add the Koh Larn ferry on day three, then rest on day four and head back to Bangkok.

What should I eat?

Short answer: spread your meals across seafood, som tam, pad thai and mango sticky rice.

Plan meals in Pattaya around seafood, som tam, pad thai and mango sticky rice: seafood for dinner by the beach and som tam or pad thai at lunch, so each meal is different. We don't pick specific shops or prices here.

What should I check before I go?

Short answer: check visa-exemption rules for your nationality, the sanctuary's tour times and the ferry timetable.

Thailand revised its visa-exemption and visa-on-arrival schemes from 15 September 2026, and stays under bilateral agreements can differ. Check the official sources for your nationality before you travel.

Day and night tour times at the Sanctuary of Truth differ, so choose one to match your arrival, and check the last return ferry from Koh Larn first.

Before you leave Pattaya

  • Check passport validity and your onward ticket
  • Check the sanctuary's day and night tour times
  • Check the last return ferry from Koh Larn
  • Check the travel time between Bangkok and Pattaya
  • Check entry requirements on the official sources

Which plan suits my trip?

Short answer: stay in Pattaya for the beach and the sanctuary, and give the island its own day.
  • First time in Pattaya: see the sanctuary on a day tour and save the beach for sunset.
  • Arriving late: night tours start at 18:20, so you can still see the sanctuary in the late afternoon.
  • Going to the island: plan to be back before the last return at 18:00.
